Jane DoeNothing seems to be going right for once tagged as the next superstar in Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor. Coming from an influential film background hasn’t helped the actor to make an absolute mark at the box-office for the last couple of years. No doubts on his acting skills but somehow it has not been upping his career graph as it was expected to.
The actor is not only facing a crisis in his professional life but even his personal life equations seem to be going for a toss. He may be putting on a straight face or moved on but he did speak about his insecurities once. To quote him from his interviews, “There’s a sense of insecurity that’s starting to trend inside of me. I’m feeling a sense of friction where I really don’t know what’s happening with my career. I know what’s happening with my work but I don’t know what’s going to happen with my career.” Almost a year later, things haven’t turned bright for this boy.

Experiments and Ranbir Kapoor
In his last film Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha Ranbir Kapoor pulled out all doubts which people harbored on his acting capabilities. His chemistry with Deepika Padukone was very much appreciated but when it came to the collections, it didn’t fare so well. Some wonder if only the Ranbir-Deepika pairing was the reason people came to the theatres. He attempted to be quirky through his last roles in Besharam, Roy, Bombay Velvet none of which helped.
He probably needs to be very cautious about what he takes up next. His scheduled film Jagga Jasoos has only been making negative news about its constant delay. A lot of money has already been put in and since his break up with Katrina Kaif, the environment on the sets we hear is far from cordial, which is definitely not smooth sailing for the film to progress. The release of the film is getting delayed further, while Ranbir Kapoor has completed his other film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. He really needs a full-fledged masala entertainer which would impressed the audiences.
Jinxed Personal Life
On personal front, his 7-year long relationship which supposedly didn’t have support from his family went kaput at the start of this year. He has apparently moved on and asked Katrina Kaif to do the same, who is too hurt by his stance. She tried for a patch up but got humiliated instead. He however is enjoying his single status. While his parents have said they are leaving the choice to him as to which girl he would marry and they will give their blessings.
Right now Ranbir Kapoor desperately needs a silver lining to his career and it will be worth waiting to see if Karan Johar’s Ae Dil hai Mushkil proves it for him. He also has the Sanjay Dutt biopic which has pinned up hopes being a Rajkumar Hirani project. To essay out Dutt is a challenge in itself and Ranbir’s caliber will once again be tested with that one. It is time he stops his experiments and concentrates more on meaty masala.
