Jane DoeThe next John Travolta. This is the title which has been conferred upon by Boney Kapoor to choreographer, Gaggun Bedi. Twelve years back Gaggun Bedi took his first step into choreography. He prepared performances at annual functions of his school and today there are more than 3.5 lakh successful students around the world.
Gaggun Bedi belongs to a business family but has created his identity through his dancing skills. He has a dancing institution named ‘Sparkling Pearls Institute’. The institute is currently credited with many titles like ‘Pride of Punjab’, ‘Dance King’, ‘Dandiya King’ and now ‘Next John Travolta’ by none other than Boney Kapoor. Gaggun has students of all age groups and of both the genders. He has worked like a doctor to his city folks when it comes to fitness through dance.
Significant Mentions of Gaggun Bedi
Gaggun was also tied up with ‘Silver Sand Production’, which produced a reality show on Channel V named, The Hottest Girl in India. Not only this, Anna Morcom from London University in her book ‘Illicit World of Indian Dance’ has mentioned Gaggun Bedi. In the chapter ‘Bollywood Dance Revolution’ she has given tribute to his years of perseverance to break the taboo about dance being unethical to society. “Dance is mind- body- soul connection. It is the very essence of life. To be a dancer is an achievement in itself”, says proud Gaggun.
Dance Competition in Olympics!
Well, Gaggun is just not over yet. The biggest achievement of his is that recently dance has been taken up by the Olympics Committee. An association has been formed called All India Dance Sports Federation in which all Latin dance forms have been taken. Just like other tournaments, there will be also be a Dance Tournament, a part of Olympics. General Secretary of All India Dance Sports Federation, Mr. Biswajit Mohanti has selected Gaggun Bedi as chief judge for Bihar Dance Sports Federation which was held in Patna. Gaggun judged 22 states and was honored by the CM.

Even after touching the pinnacle of success Gaggun says, “Dance is worship. It’s next to Yoga which keeps us away from stress and depression. It culminates us with the Almighty”. Gaggun Bedi advocates dance to everyone and considers it as a soul healer.
Gaggun has still a long run to go. His hard work has just started to pay off. He is inspiring to everyone around him and suggests to convert all hurdles as stepping stones.
